This mug from Kinto's CERAMIC LAB collection highlights the duality between rustic and delicate, combining traditional Japanese techniques with a modern, minimalist design. By working with artisans from pottery villages in Japan, Kinto manages to reinterpret Japanese tableware to suit a contemporary lifestyle. In this process, inherited knowledge is applied, such as the balance between clay and glaze, taking into account how heat and humidity affect the final result during firing.

This collection is designed to provide a comfortable and warm experience, with clay textures that offer a rustic yet cozy touch. CERAMIC LAB products tend to be simple and functional, designed to give a sense of calm and connection to the user.

This mug is made of sandstone exclusive to the Hasami region, a mixture of sand and rocks with Amakusa porcelain stone, quarried from the Amakusa Islands. This porcelain clay guarantees durability and produces deep hues thanks to the reaction of the iron in the sandstone with the glaze.
